Eyelash extensions are not to be confused with strip lashes “or cluster lashes”. The eyelash extensions we apply are individual, semi-permanent, glossy synthetic lashes that are applied to your natural lashes to make them look longer, fuller and thicker. It is a single lash procedure. We apply the extensions on to your natural lashes one-by-one!
The Classic technique is applying one single synthetic eyelash extension, to one isolated natural lash. There are many different factors to applying classic lashes such as the length, curl, and diameter. We use lengths of the lashes from 6-15 millimeters. Our curls are B, C and D curls. The diameters we use for classic lashes are 0.15 mm, 0.20 mm and 0.25 mm. Your stylist will advise you on what’s best for the look you desire. When applying classic eyelash extensions, you are only able to apply as many extensions as there are healthy natural lashes to your client’s eyes. For some clients, this works out perfect for them, as they have thick natural lashes. But for others who may not have many lashes, or have gaps. This can be disappointing and some lash artists might think to use a thicker diameter. WRONG. Increasing the diameter of the extension will not create a fuller look. This can be damaging as well as look and feel heavy. However… there’s a new technique taking over the lashing world right now. It is known as Russian Volume or Volume technique.
The Volume technique is a method in which you are SAFELY applying anywhere from 2-6 super fine, lightweight extensions per natural lash. These lashes are 0.05 mm and 0.07mm in diameter. Many who have heard about the new volume technique have various questions like is it safe for the natural lashes? Is it too heavy? Will it damage the natural lashes? With the Volume technique you can actually apply more lashes, using less weight. This allows you to create fuller look, especially for those who do not have many natural lashes. Volume lashing is a technique and is not just the type of lash. You are not only using certain diameters for the volume technique but it is also about how you apply them. With volume, you are still isolating one natural lash, but instead of applying one single classic lash, you apply a handmade “fan” of thinner diameter lashes that are hand-crafted to customize the perfect weight for every single natural lash.
Clients can typically go longer in between refills with the Volume technique; the extensions are lighter on the natural lashes, making long-term wear even more likely. Most of our clients have switched over from the classic technique and clients are happier than before because they have softer, fuller lashes that look and feel more natural.
Applying a full set of lashes takes about two hours, and can be maintained year-round with touch-ups recommended every three to four weeks. A half set of lashes are an economical alternative to achieve a similarly dramatic effect, applied as filler to thicken natural lashes, or applied outward from the eye for a specialized look.
Everyone has different lashes, and depending on the condition of your own natural lashes, lash experts can only go a certain length or thickness. This is to ensure that your own lashes remain healthy. For example, if your natural lashes are on the shorter, thinner side, you won’t be able to get a crazy dramatic look, because it won’t last. It’s better to start out with a half set (50 to 60 percent of your top lashes) if you aren’t sure or it’s your first time. It’s easier to add more than to remove lashes!
No, ABSOLUTELY NOT! Throw your eyelash curler out! When using eyelash curlers, they may pull not only your lash extensions out, but also your own lashes. Even if you do not have extensions on, throw the curler out. Over time it ruins your natural lashes and could cause bald spots in your natural lash line. Remember, our lash extensions are already curled. Ask your stylist to recommend a level of curvature that will fit you best.
We ask that you do not. One advantage of having lash extensions is to not wear mascara. Never use waterproof mascara or oil based mascara on the extensions as it will break the bond of the adhesive. We understand that sometime you will need to add a little oomph, if you ABSOLUTELY have to wear mascara; we ask that you only apply from the middle to the tip. The extensions do better when you do not use mascara!
Do not get your lashes wet for an hour after you get your lashes done. Your lashes will need time to fully dry and bond with the adhesive. If you want to be extra safe, you can also wait until the next morning to wash your face. Only use Oil-Free products around your eyes, especially Oil-Free make-up remover and wipes.
YES, but these activities are not to be done excessively. Our special adhesive allows you to shower, swim, exercise, sleep and spa while wearing extensions. You can enjoy your lash extensions with little need to adjust your lifestyle. Please do not swim or spa (even steam from your shower) for 48 hours after your lash procedure to allow the bonding agent to fully cure. The main thing to remember with these activities is that you just want to make sure the extensions are not excessively exposed to heat and moisture.
Please refer to the Lash Menu to learn about our three different types of look. We recommend that you come back when you have about 50% of lash extensions remaining. Most people will need a 60 minute refill if you have about 50% remaining. Our refills are based on time but keep in mind that we have to clean your lashes and remove the old extensions before we can apply the new extensions. Our stylists will put on as many lashes as they can in the time they have. Please refer to our Lash Menu to get an idea of how much time you would need for your refill. Please clarify how much time you will need for your refill when you call to book your appointment. If you have less than 25% of lash extensions remaining, you would need to schedule for a Full Set. This means you have gone too long between refills and most of the lashes remaining will probably need to come off anyways because they are old and have served their time.
Everybody wears their lashes differently. Touch up time will depend on everything from your sleeping habits, to hygiene, and especially how rough you treat your lashes.
When we sleep, some sleep on their face, some on their side, some on their back, and even some will rub their eyes during sleep or rub their face in the pillows. Some people will even pick at their lashes when they are nervous. Most people will assume that not cleaning their eyes will make the lashes last longer, well that’s wrong. Our lashes are made to block dirt, oil, and debris from getting into our eyes, so you do have to clean your eyes or all the dirt will build up into the lashes and might cause an infection. This is a very common assumption. Our eyes are very sensitive so they deserve special care. ALWAYS use an Oil-Free face wash or Oil-Free wipes to remove your make-up.
Most people typically refill between 2-4 weeks, it all depends on how full you want your lashes to be. We recommend you to come back for refills when you have about 50% of lashes remaining. After time, your natural lashes will grow out, causing the extensions that’s still attached to maybe lean to one side or flip upside down because they can no longer hold up the weight of the extensions. Natural lashes are constantly shedding and new ones are growing in their place. Extensions will fall out along with your natural lash when it’s at the end of its growth stage. As the new ones come in, they will need to have extensions attached.
This definitely will depend on how full you want your lashes to be. We have three levels of fullness. Please refer to the Lash Menu to see what which will fit you best!
